BURKE- Q Burke Mountain is working towards adding a new piece to their ensemble; a new hotel. Although a year behind schedule, the final deadline has been set and the hotel is expected to be completed by December of 2015.
BURKE - After a harsh winter, Burke's roads are in need of renovations. From the interstate to the streets, Burke will be keeping V-Trans busy during the next couple of months. The bridge heading northbound of I-91 is one section that was hit hard by this season's freezing temperatures.
BURKE - The Burke Town School has saved money, and it wasn’t cheap. After three years of planning and spending $450,000 to upgrade to their heating system, the school is finally reaping the benefits.
BURKE- The Burke Select Board will have to have an upcoming meeting to decide on what to do with Recreational Vehicles in the East and West Villages. Currently, there are no campgrounds in the villages because the town decided it was not equipped to have such areas.
WEST BURKE - With all proceeds going to charity, West Burke was the place to be on this Valentine's Day weekend. It might have been frigid and the temperatures were blistering but at the senior meal, the dance floor was certainly heating up.
EAST BURKE - A 27-year-old St. Johnsbury woman was found dead by ski patrol on QBurke Mountain early Friday evening.
BURKE - The community is familiar with the Pub Outback and its recent closure. Now, the Burke Publick House has moved in, with plans to open on the 22nd of this month. The owner, Curt Cuccia, and his workers are trying their best to get ready for the opening day.

BURKE VT-Kingdom Trails mountain biking season has came to it’s successful conclusion this past weekend.
BURKE - Many great causes happening around the Northeast Kingdom this weekend and this one was no different. Musicians and music lovers came together in West Burke for a little music and dancing.
Burke- The Conservation Collaboratives, Kingdom Trails, and the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce put on an event known as Circumburke this past Saturday.
Burke – Burke Mountain, one of the most popular winter skiing resorts in the Northeastern Kingdom, has started selling its 2014-2015 winter pass. This is the first year that Burke tried to sell the season pass by quantity than by date.
BURKE- Q-Burke Mountain hosted the final race of the Kingdom Enduro this past weekend. The race was the third in the Triple Crown Series.
BURKE VT- This weekend, Burke celebrated it’s twenty seventh Fall Foliage Festival.
Visitors from near and far came to enjoy Burke’s biggest festival, and with the scenic fall views and the summer like weather, no one was left disappointed.
EAST BURKE- Foliage is in its peak in East Burke, just in time for the annual Fall Foliage Festival. Burke is hoping for a busy weekend, President of the Burke area Chamber of Commerce, Tim Tierney, estimates that around 4,500 people will attend the festival in the small town.
BURKE - Construction has been moving quickly for the Q Burke Resort, and is even ahead of schedule, after breaking ground at the site this summer. PeakCM President, Jerry Davis, says that they are in the first phase of the EB-5 Project, which consists of four different projects.
BURKE- Over 50 years ago, a mountain manager and a city girl met in Alaska. Now, the two are happily married and together, they bring more to Burke than their animals and farm-- their love for the two as well as for eachother.
BURKE- Q Burke Mountain held a rail jam this past weekend to honor local hero, Ian Muller. Ian was a 22 year old Lyndon student who was killed in Afghanistan in March of 2012. Spirits were high as skiers and Riders of all ages hit the slopes in during the rail jam. Contestants had an option of four rails of diverse shapes and sizes.
BURKE- The Vermont state guidelines declare that for every number of square feet there can only be such a number of children. Due to the square footage that the Burke Town School covers, the school is close to reaching it's maximum student capacity which may lead to a possible expansion.
BURKE- Thanks to the technology of snowmaking, mountains across the state are opening pre-season each year.With the help from a snow-loving staff, endless night shifts and the advancement’s in snowmaking, some of Vermont’s finest ski resorts are opening up as early as October.
EAST BURKE- As temperatures drop and snow starts to fall, the holiday season is just around the corner. For those celebrating Christmas, tree selection time is quickly approaching.
