BRADFORD-- While many events across the country were canceled due to COVID-19, Bradford Public Library successfully continued their annual event, Poem Town, despite social distancing and stay-at-home orders.
BRADFORD - State Representatives Sarah Copeland Hanzas and David Deen, held a rally today in Bradford to unveil their proposal for a carbon tax bill.
BRADFORD - The Vermont Hazardous Response Team made one of their two monthly trips to a local Fire Department recently. This time their stop was in Bradford to share their knowledge of safety equipment with fellow emergency responders.
BRADFORD- This morning five construction teams assembled at the Interstate 91 rest stop in Bradford to take a tour of the facility, as the state looks to repair the twenty-two year-old shingled roof.
BRADFORD- The Bradford Police Department just got a boost to it's equipment. Every year, the Vermont Agency of Transportation brings together the police departments from around the state is help make the roads safer. One of the things this meeting is focusing on, is the agency awarding grants to towns to help pay for what they need to do their job better with the use of the Governor's Highway Safety Fund.
BRADFORD- The Bradford Police Department is getting a new police cruiser to replace an earlier and worn-down model. The new cruiser would be a 2017 Ford Explorer, replacing the department’s 2010 model.
BRADFORD – The police department in Bradford recently purchased a two-layer bulletproof vest for use in active shooter situations. The vest offers protection against hunting-grade weapons and helps keep law enforcement officers safe out in the field.
BRADFORD - Community supported agriculture, also known as CSA’s, are when community members have the opportunity to purchase a share of a farm’s produce for the spring, summer, and fall. The member will provide a one-time up-front payment for a 15-30 weeks share of the season’s harvest.
BRADFORD- A fire that broke out at a camp in Bradford this past weekend is now being called suspicious. The Bradford Fire Department responded to 1254 Tarbox Road in Bradford around 4pm Saturday.
BRADFORD - A thirty-two room assisted living facility is the topic of conversation in Bradford. The new development is planned to be built above the Park and Ride, and would cost nearly $6.4 million.

BRADFORD- This past weekend marked the 9th annual 4x4 Vermonster, which took place on the Connecticut Valley Fairgrounds in Bradford.
Vermonster is an action-packed, off-roading, monster truck festival that takes place rain or shine. This year, the festival featured nothing but blue skies and temperatures in the 70s.
BRADFORD- The Oxbow Olympians took on the Randolph Galloping Ghosts in varsity boys soccer on yesterday. Junior, Nathan Gray started the scoring early for the Ghosts, and they didn’t look back from there.
BRADFORD- The fall Vermonster will be rolling into the Connecticut Valley Fairgrounds next weekend, with three days of muddy fun for the whole family.
There will be a few new evetns this time around including truck pulls, tri-truck challenege and a monster truck pit pary.
BRADFORD - Wednesday evening the Lady Olympians of Oxbow played host to the Randolph Galloping Ghosts in a soccer match both teams desperately needed to win to avoid falling to 0-3. Oxbow had lost their first two games by six goals each, while Randolph lost a pair of close match-ups including a 1-0 loss to Northfield last Friday.
BRADFORD - April showers not only brought back the May flowers, but also the mud, much to the delight of the folks in Bradford. May 3rd and 4th marked the 9th year that Vermonster took over Bradford.
BRADFORD - You could find nearly the entire town of Bradford at the Bradford Academy yesterday evening, all for the sake of purchasing a new, very large piece of rescue equipment.
BRADFORD- Last night the Bradford Academy held their World Book Night. Author Mary Holland presented a photographic display about her own experiences in New England.
BRADFORD- A large fire in Bradford destroyed a barn and nearly more on Sunday afternoon. The owner, Mickey Appleton, found out around four P.M, and by that time, his barn had already burned to the ground.
BRADFORD - A Bradford woman has been charged with felony counts of Medicaid Fraud after she allegedly billed for care that was never provided to children and vulnerable adults.
BRADFORD- Noah Noyes, one of the leading candidates for principal at Oxbow High School, is facing scrutiny from parents over charges filed against him last summer that were connected to his current post at the Danville School.
BRADFORD - Last night the Oxbow Lady Olympians hosted the Green Mountain Union Chieftains in girls lacrosse action. The Lady Olympians were looking to bounce back after two tough losses, 10-6 to St. Johnsbury Academy, and 16-6 to Bellows Free Academy.
BRADFORD - The Vermonster is back and that means mud, mud everywhere.
Almost eight thousand people showed up this past weekend for the Vermonster.
BRADFORD - Sydney Lea has been writing for a large portion of his life, and he was named Vermont's Poet Laureate in 2011. Lea lives in the Northeast Kingdom, where he resides in Newbury, but he came from a much different background. Born in Philadelphia in 1942, Sydney has lived all over the world, from a fellowship he took in 1988 in Siena, Italy, to his time spent teaching in Budapest, Hungary or Lugano, Switzrland.
