The Vermonts Trophy Trout Program stocks some of the largest trout in the nation. The Passumpsic River is now the home to five hundred new fish.

L.I. Janitor Pleads Not Guilty To Petit Larceny Charges

janitor arraingedSAINT JOHNSBURY - Janitor Christopher Lafleur was in court Monday facing petit larceny charges after he allegedly stole money from student's dorm rooms.

According to police, earlier this year students at Lyndon Institute noticed money missing from their dorm rooms and setup an undercover camera which caught Lafleur taking the cash.

RCT Bus Catches Fire

Heroes Honored At St. Johnsbury Dinner


ST. JOHNSBURY - Several local heroes were honored at last night's "Unsung Heroes Celebration Dinner," which took place at St. Johnsbury Academy's Streeter Hall Cafeteria on Thursday night. The dinner was designed to showcase community members who volunteer work in the community can sometimes go unnoticed, and the honorees featured faces familiar to those active in the Northeast Kingdom community.

Students in the fashion program design and construct their own clothes, giving them an unique opportunity not many high school students have.

Out of Control Fire Burns 2 Acres

fire fighter brushSAINT JOHNSBURY - Crews were busy Saturday afternoon in Saint Johnsbury as high winds blew embers from a small fire onto a hill off Route 2 catching it on fire. The Saint Johnsbury fire department were called to an area of land off Route 2 in East Saint Johnsbury after a homeowner started a fire in a firepit and with the help of strong winds, blew embers onto the grass starting another fire "the wind was just right" says fire chief Troy Ruggles "the grass was dry enough so it was perfect conditions for a brush fire."

Hunting Easter Eggs

easter ST JOHNSBURY - As the countdown to Easter began for children in St Johnsbury, the day before dozens lined up to get there shot at the golden egg. Dozens of parents and kids came out to the lawn of the North Congrational Church in Saint Johnsbury Saturday to find candy in an Easter egg hunt put on by KIX 105.5.

Remembering Melissa Jenkins

Former Town Manager Coming Back?

special meetingST. JOHNSBURY - The St. Johnsbury Select board had an early morning meeting this Thursday. They are trying to make progress on getting St. Johnsbury a town manager. 

The open session did not last long before the group moved into executive session almost immediately. Towns attorneys were present but only for legal advice.

SJA Faculty Awarded Grants

The St. Johnsbury Academy offers nearly 50 extracurricular activities outside of their organized sports teams run through the Athletic Department. One of these activities is leading a team of young men to a championship competition.

Chimney Fire Awarness

fire fightersST. JOHNSBURY- Chimney fires are some of the most common avoidable fires that firefighters have to deal with. Chimney fires are formed when creosote, a very flammable substance, builds up in the flue. St Johnsbury fire crews responded today to a fire at 1240 Breezy Hill Road when the home owner reported a loud crackling sound, similar to a freight train, echoing through his home.
