Dorsey Thumb LYNDONVILLE— In 2005, Chris Dorsey enrolled at Lyndon State College to further his collegiate basketball career and pursue a degree in Exercise Science. While playing under coach Eric Berry, Dorsey and the rest of the 2005-06 Hornets finished at the top of the conference with a school-best 23-5 record. As a point guard, Dorsey averaged 20 points, ten assists, and about five rebounds per game during the 2005-06 season.

Playing For PurposeLYNDONVILLE – This season isn’t simply business as usual for the Lyndon State College Men’s Basketball team. The team finished in fourth place in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) standings as they head into the playoffs. But the Hornet’s play on the court hasn’t been the only thing turning heads this season. The team has been very active in the community. They have held autograph sessions after games for fans and even visited local schools to discuss paying for college and what it’s like to be the first in their family to go to college.

Oldest Pearl Harbor Survivor in Vermont

LYNDON - 96-year-old World War II veteran, Madeline Chaffe, of East Ryegate, Vermont, is believed to be the oldest living survivor in the state from the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

This is a reality for Senator Joe Benning as he balances being both a lawyer and a politician. “It’s not an easy task,” Benning said. “Luckily I have thirty years worth of brownie points with the court clerks and they’ve been really good at accommodating my schedule.”

A Piece Of History

TankLYNDONVILLE - The Tank that sits outside of the Lyndonville National Guard Armory is not only a decorative piece, it's also a symbol of what used to be. The Armory wasn't always what is today; it used to serve as something different than an infantry unit with a focus on mountain warfare. About 20 years ago, the armory transitioned into an infantry unit, which is when they stopped keeping and using tanks. However, the Unit kept and still use a number of wheeled military vehicles.

Winter Parking Ban

Winter Parking BanLYNDON - You may be looking outside your window seeing blue skies amongst vibrant red and yellow trees, but in just a few weeks that will all change, and so will your permitted parking.  The transition into winter makes for an even bigger change is on the roadways. Starting November 1st, the town of Lyndonville asks that you do not park your vehicle on any street or highway within the town between 12am and 7am.

Darling Hill Rezoning

thumb Lyndon - The Lyndon planning commission met Wednesday October 13th to discuss the rezoning of Darling Hill Road. 
 
The purpose of rezoning would be to allow commercial properties on the road. It is currently zoned as rural residential which limits it to inns and private homes.
