VERMONT- A recent resignation has left the town of Barnet without a Town Lister. Now, they are on the hunt for a replacement.
The Barnet Select Board read the resignation of Town Lister, Ronald Morse, on October 28th. Now, two weeks later, the town has officially given the notice of vacancy in the office of Town Lister. Barnet hopes to fill the vacant position by the annual town meeting day in March of 2014.
The board does not want just anybody to fill the position. They want someone to fill the position that they listers wanted.
"There have been a couple of people that have expressed interest... although the listers haven't formally given me a list. They don't have anyone in particular in mind," said Town Clerk Benjamin Heisholt.
The town says that they would prefer someone with computer experience, as well as Lister experience. If anybody is interested in applying for the position of Town Lister in Barnet, all applications must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25th. For more information regarding the open position visit the Barnet town website.
