Phil Scott Hits the Open Road

Phil Scott Campaign RideST. JOHNSBURY - Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott hit the road to continue campaigning. Scott is not doing your conventional meet and greets and then getting back in his car. He is riding all over the state on his bicycle. 

On Monday Scott was at the Comfort Inn in St. Johnsbury to meet with people and hear their concerns and plans for the state.After that he hit the road Monday to start his 56 mile bike ride Monday were he ended the night in Newport. This was just the start of his 8 day 500 mile journey traveling over 14 counties. He will finish his ride on October 9th in the town of Barre. 

Scott says "We all campaign and you have to get around the state of Vermont and go to all corners 4 corners of the state. I thought we've all done it by car or truck and I thought why not slow the pace down just a little bit and do it by bicycle and get it from a different perspective."

While on the road Scott says that his State House office will remain open however Scott says that he will be donating his official salary for the week to the the Vermont Long Term Recovery Fund.
