Sorrell Wins Ninth Term

BURLINGTON- William Sorrell will remain Vermont's Attorney General as he will return for his ninth term after winning the Attorney General race last night.

According to polls, the Incumbent Democrat has won nearly 60 percent of the state's vote, amassing a huge total of just over 73,000 votes.

Republican hopeful, Shane McCormack, was only able to obtain 36 percent of the vote while Liberty Union Representative Rosemarie Jackowski rounded it out with the remaining 4 percent.

Last election, Jackowski only had 3 percent and the election before that, she had a mere 1.5 percent of the vote. Safe to say that support for the Liberty Union party is showing a slow increase in the Attorney General race compared to the Republican Party, which has seen a decrease in recent years.

Sorrell spoke to supporters and the Democratic Party at the Hilton last night and called his 20 point lead a "very strong vote of support for what I have been doing and what I intend to do."
