Former Town Manager Coming Back?

special meetingST. JOHNSBURY - The St. Johnsbury Select board had an early morning meeting this Thursday. They are trying to make progress on getting St. Johnsbury a town manager.

The open session did not last long before the group moved into executive session almost immediately. Towns attorneys were present but only for legal advice.

In this session board members interviewed one canidate. The odds-on favorite for the position is considered to be the former town manager John Hall. But it is certainly not final.

A former member of the select board Bernie Timson said "I don't think they're being thorough. I think they've had one candidate on their mind. He's been on their mind from day one. And that candidate, if it is the one i think, he's 13 years stale in the town management business." While the select board chair said " It's a confidential process. I mean the candidate did a good job in the interview. He was able to answer all the questions that we asked.

Oddy said that the board is planning on taking as long as they need to fully evaluate town manager candidate.
