SAINT JOHNSBURY- A permanent town manager was appointed in September of 2010, Ralph Nelson, but almost two years later,Nelson was fired by selectboard members Jim Rust and Bernard Timson. Since Nelson was let go, the role of town manager has been divided between four people.
Dawn Mcphee, Merelise O'Connor, Jim Rust, and for a short time Mark Shea have been taking over as town manager. Since Nelson was relived of his duties, no one has been selected to fill his shoes as of yet.
In that time, Nelson has opened his lawsuit against the town of St. Johnsbury on the grounds of wrongful termination. Richard Cassidy, Nelson's attorney stated "that Mr. Nelson's objective" was referring to the reinstatement of Nelson as town manager.
