"ICE OUT" Protest in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY -  Across the nation we are seeing hundreds of protests against I.C.E. Last Saturday, the little town of St. Johnsbury joined in the nationwide protesting. People from around the town gathered outside the police station on all sides of the road.

The peaceful protesters raised signs, yelled in chants, read aloud names, and even played music. The protest was attended by many people and even driving passerby joined in. Among many other things, the protest was spawned as a result of the unjust killings of American citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti; their names were often recited by the many protestors.

Many of the demands of the protest included the removal of the ICE agency, the firing of Christie Noam, or simply the removal of the current administration. No generation was left out Saturday when people of all ages came together under the same message: highschoolers, workers, and even the elderly made their mark. The protest began around noon and had wrapped up by the second hour. There was no major counter protest movement nor police involvement in the protest. It remained completely peaceful and law abiding due to the many uniformed organizers keeping people safe and to ensure road safety.

While the town of St. Johnsbury have certainly made their stance clear, only time will tell of what’s to come for these protesters and their demands.
