Summer Flooding Continues to be an Issue for Local Businesses

St.Johnsbury businesses continue to suffer from the flooding this past summer, Planned Parenthood being one of them.

This past summer, St. Johnsbury experienced major flooding, leaving many businesses with devastating damages. Almost a year later, some businesses are still struggling. St.Johnbury's Planned Parenthood announced their closure with flooding as one of their major reasons.

While some businesses have been able to recover, others continue to regain funds. Many businesses, including Planned Parenthood have struggled to get back on their feet since the floods.

Many local businesses have been forced to close due to the lack of income since the flooding.

Businesses nearby Saint Johnsbury's Planned Parenthood expressed their concerns for not only their own business but also everyone around them.

Colleen Racenet, an owner of a nearby business, CCR Sports, explained, "I just like to see people support local businesses. It's hard to recoop the loss of income if people don't come in because there's not really great insurance to recoop the lack of sales"

Racenet explained that since many smaller businesses were unable to get enough business during and after the flooding, some had to close. She continues to see some businesses struggle to keep themselves open due to such a drastic money loss.
