Umbrella Ribbon Cutting

Umbrella is hosting their first ever ribbon cutting event in celebration of the money raised towards their Capital Campaign, “Root, Nurture, Grow”.

This campaign has raised five hundred thousand dollars, which is set from their six hundred thousand dollars goal in redoing their building. Jordan Cady, the associate director of development/communications, explained what their approach is in growing a safer community. “We wanted to root into this community, nurture our community, as well as grow our community”. “It’s a milestone for our community because we have a safe space for survivors, or youth, or anyone to come into”, (Jordan Cady). The event consisted of guest speakers, acknowledgement of the sponsors, and having residents come in and enjoy their beautiful space. What’s even more special, honoring members who have put in time, money, and volunteering into this program, specifically Bill and Marian Mohri who will have their names included to the building. They have many of these individuals named after special room’s within the building, including the community room, youth nook, and family room.
