A notice has been released by the Sheffield food pantry due to the current ongoing situation of Covid-19.
The notice was released on April 27th 2020 containing a number of updates. I have spoken with Sara Camber, the manager of the Sheffield food Pantry. "Things are going well. For at least the month of May we will still be doing it by sign up, delivery and curbside pickup only. The only change is we will NOT be offering curbside or delivery on the same day that the truck from VT food banks delivers to us. So instead of the scheduled fourth Thursday which is May 28th we will distributing and offering curbside pickup by appointment on May 29th and 30th."
Still only one household is allowed inside the town hall and to make up the boxes for homes in need. But the Food pantry is not accepting private food donations at this time and will continue to order directly from Vermont Food bank. The Pantry would also like everyone to know during and after the pandemic the pantry will continue to serve anyone who is still in need. Camber thanks everyone for reaching out at this time and appreciates the communitys patients. The Pantry will also continue to take necessary precaution to keep everyone including its volunteers safe during this time.
