The Cobleigh Library in Lyndon proposed an idea of putting a charging station for electric vehicles next to their location.
At the Lyndon Commission Meeting the proposal was made, the specifics of this plan is to use the wooden electric pole that’s on the side of the street, having a level 2 station for cars to use along with their newly planned bookmobile. Town of Lyndon Electric Commissions chair Ken Mason shared more details on the process of getting this through. “There’s several other spots in Lyndon that were thought to be good locations, but it’s just that no one stepped up”.“It turns out that the pole actually, there’s a curb on the road of about eight to ten feet”, (Ken Mason). Along with permission from the select board, the factors of finances and time are what will add into the project working out. Another challenge, the spot they hope to put the station at is considered handicapped, therefore, they would need to create a different spot as it is crucial to have accessibility to the library. The distance from the pole to the parking spot is also a factor, if there’s a connector on the pole, the withstanding of how much the pole holds and how far away it is could become an issue.
