Changes in Curbside Pick-Up

LYNDON- The Lyndon Select Board met last night to discuss their stance on the new Universal Recycling Law and curbside trash pick up.

The Universal Recycling Law is a new law in Vermont that will change the way towns in the state will dispose of recycling in trash.

The major change out of the new regulation is that residents will have to pay for the disposal of their trash by volume.

The Select Board will have the task to select from a handful of vendors who will offer their services and price to the board from which point they will select. The board will be seeking a reasonable and affordable vendor, however, if there does not seem to be a vendor that stands out above the rest, one may not be selected at all.

If the Select Board does not find one that is deemed appropriate, residents will be given the choice to find their own way of disposing their trash and recyclables.
