Patriots in Petticoats Event Celebrates Female Heroes of the Revolutionary Era

The Patriots in Petticoats event was held last Wednesday in Danville as a promotion for the upcoming 250th celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The gathering took place at the Danville Congregational Church, where a series of volunteer readers shared stories about female patriotic heroes from the Revolutionary Era. The event lasted just under an hour but was rich in content, with close to 20 different stories presented. The turnout was strong, and the atmosphere was warm, filled with welcoming gestures and even a touch of dark humor. The event concluded with heartfelt thank-yous to the Danville Historical Society, who partnered to bring the event to life. As the 250th celebration approaches, expect more events in and around Danville, with exciting plans in the works.
