Several Budget Proposals Pass in Danville

DANVILLE - This week, residents of Danville voted on several different budget proposals, many of which passed on Town Meeting Day. Notably, the General Fund, the Highway Fund, and the School District Budget all passed on the ballot.

A budget proposal to put up public tennis courts was originally pitched at $20,000.00 but was amended to $13,000.00 and then passed. Similarly, another proposal saw an expenditure of over $81,000.00 for hiring or contracting additional police or sheriff coverage, but that has been amended to just under $41,000.00, and there are more stipulations on its execution. This also passed.

Danville residents can expect to see a 2.3% increase in their residential tax rate, which will go up by 4 cents from this year.
