BURKE VT- This weekend, Burke celebrated it’s twenty seventh Fall Foliage Festival.
Visitors from near and far came to enjoy Burke’s biggest festival, and with the scenic fall views and the summer like weather, no one was left disappointed.
“It’s just great to have a time of the year to just buy some stuff, and have candy, and it’s just fun.” said Tory Young of Lyndon, who attend the festival with her family. Her brother Alex also enjoyed the festival,” I would strongly recommend this festival to anyone who hasn’t been here.”
Kids like Tory and Alex had plenty of fun options to choose from, like cow patty bingo and a bouncy house. Adults could bid on art or antiques in the library auction, or even take a break from it all in the beer garden, located at Mike's Tiki Bar. Of course, children of all ages enjoyed the parade. It was full of singing and dancing, beautiful floats and even clowns on miniature ATV's.
Tom Taylor lives in Burke and is the owner of Burke Mountain Confectionary. He came with his son to the festival to sell his chocolates and even have a little fun. “It’s fantastic. It’s a great local venue. It features a lot of Vermont local products. It’s a great community gathering.”
Taylor was one of over seventy vendors; selling everything from handmade chocolate, to home grown produce. To make the day complete, live music played all day long, and the Chamber of Commerce put on a delicious barbeque.
