BURKE - As Jessi Hudson continues renovations for a new inn targeted towards mountain bikers, her dreams are one step closer to becoming a reality.

Over the past several years Hudson has had thoughts of an inn located next to Burke Mountain, where bikers would be able to finish their day of hitting the trails and enjoy their nights with friends by a fire within an inviting environment.

 When speaking of the inn, Hudson said she wanted the mountain bikers to "just really enjoy their time here rather than it just be a bed."

The inn will be located in an old family barn passed down by Hudson's parents. The barn dates back to the 1800's. If left unkept, she feared it would become another rundown barn left to wither on a Vermont roadside. Plus, Hudson felt that catering to the bikers would be its perfect use.

"We want this to be a place not only for mountain bikers to stay but [have] an experience," she said.

They have been working diligently on the barn, hoping to have it up and running in time for the start of the next mountain biking season. The bathing house will be located next to the barn and its construction is expected to start in the near future.
