Burke Mountain Done for Season

BurkeMountainBURKE- The Burke Mountain resort has chosen to close down all operations in wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, a virus that is forcing many businesses to come to a halt.

The resort had to cut their winter season early on March 14th, and is now bracing for the impact it will have on the business as a whole. General Manager, Kevin Mack says he is concerned for the North East Kingdom Community.

"Our concern is for the families of the Kingdom, our staff, friends, guests who love coming to Burke and everyone that is affected by the virus. The challenges we are facing, our community challenges," said Mack.

When asked if there was anything positive that can be taken out of this situation, Mack said he hopes that we will come together as a community and share a smile when all of this has passed.

"Burke is an iconic Vermont destination that has a great and far-reaching reputation for skiing, biking, having fun outside.  Once we get through this I expect the community will come together to tell that story again and our trails, restaurants and other amenities will be hopping."

The resort is following all state instruction and expects to resume normal operations on May 1st for the start of the summer season.
