Biking Season Comes To An End

KTCloseBURKE VT-Kingdom Trails mountain biking season has came to it’s successful conclusion this past weekend.

This was the twentieth season for the non-profit conservation organization, which was recently named “The Best Mountain Bike Trail Network in North America” by Bike Magazine.
This season saw about sixty to seventy thousand people hit the trails, and though there was no rise in ticket sales, there was an obvious rise in trail memberships.
On average the biking season brings a good amount of money to the community. Usually they will see about four to six hundred dollars go into the Burke community. Connor Daley, of Kingdom Trails, thinks that the riders’ spending is very important to the local economy.
“[Riders] go to the the stores, they buy food, they stay in the local hotels, or vacation rental, and that stays in the community which we kind of look at more than our money.”
The trails will are already being prepped for cross country skiing and the recently popular sport of winter biking. For more information on the upcoming season you can call (802)626-0737 or visit their website here.
