St. Johnsbury Golfer Tees Off on Division I Dream

ST. JOHNSBURY- Alex Rainville of the St. Johnsbury Academy will be taking his talents to Connecticut. Alex, a senior at the Academy, will be playing golf for the University of Hartford come fall.

The University of Hartford has a Division I golf program, and this season they have one team win and six total top 5 finishes.

Alex's dad Todd said that this journey with his son to this point has been exciting, saying, "I am extremely proud of my son, and its rewarding and exciting watching him travel around New England playing golf."

Alex has been in talks with current player and friend Evan Russell, and it was in those conversations that brought up the University of Hartford.

Alex was looking to go down to South Carolina, but Todd is happy with his sons decision as both a parent and spectator as well. This will allow Todd to watch his son play and go to more events.

"It makes it a lot easier to go see him play when its closer to home, rather than traveling to South Carolina every other weekend" says Todd.

Alex will start his final season with the Hilltoppers April 28th at the St. Johnsbury Country Club.
