st. j commerceST. JOHNSBURY - The St. Johnsbury Chamber of Commerce was awarded a grant of $76,000, which is a part of the Federal Farm Bill for Rural Development.

This grant is a part of $2.3 million that was dispersed throughout the Northeast Kingdom. Other local businesses that are receiving the grant include the Burke Area CHamber of Commerce, Northern Community Investment Corporations in St. Johnsbury, St. Johnsbury Works Inc, and the Northern Frest Center Inc. in Concord, New Hampshire.

The St. Johnsbury Chamber of Commerce will be using the grant to attract costumers to the area. They will be hanging signs to direct tourists to hotels, restaurants, and local shops.

Some of the grant will also be used to pay for the redesign of the St. Johnsbury Chamber of Commerce website to fit today's needs.
