ST. JOHNSBURY - In an effort to support art classes at Catamount Arts, 250 people gathered for a live auction with the proceeds benefitting continuation of art education. The mission of Catamount Arts is to help integrate art into the community.
"This is a great event. This is Catamount's biggest fundraiser of the year and it's just a great social party," said Scott Campbell of the Catamount Arts Board.
"There's a ton of energy in the room, and a buzz like no other event in the area," said Jody Fried, Executive Director of Catamount Arts. "We have hundreds of businesses who donate items to support us, and hundreds of individuals who show up to bid on those items to support the arts."
Attendees called it a great night filled with good music and all around good fun, with an end goal in sight.
"It's really important that we support the arts, and that we provide the arts to young people, and to show the kids there's arts education programs here that are very big," said Campbell.
