Welcoming An Old Face to a New Job

Lyndon Town OfficesLYNDON - The town of Lyndon and village of Lyndonville have a new town clerk/treasurer.

The Lyndon Select Board, along with the Village Trustees have selected Dawn Dwyer to replace the position left vacant by former town clerk/treasurer Lisa Barrett.

The two groups received only five applications for the position, and out of the five only two were chosen for final interviews. In the end Dwyer was unanimously picked as the right person for the job. Municipal Administrator Dan Hill says Dwyer has everything they were looking for.

"I think she's very fair.  She's very helpful, she'll do anything she can to help people, but she also realizes there's a line she can't cross in terms of allowing people not to pay a bill or something like that. So she knows where the boundaries are, and she lives within them very well.  But she's extremely helpful to the general public and I've witnessed that time and time again. I think she'll do very well," Hill said.

Dwyer isn't new to the municipal offices, she has been working there for about 28 years. She has experience working as an assistant town clerk, and is working towards her accounting degree.

Dwyer's current job title is cashier for the Lyndonville Electric Department, though that will change fairly quickly, as the transition into her new position starts immediately. Dwyer will hold her new position until elections on Town Meeting Day 2013.
