BURKE - Kingdom Trails is currently focusing on bike safety for trail riders, especially on East Darling Hill Road where cars and bikes are currently sharing a narrow road. The business is hoping to keep bikers safe with plans for a temporary bike path.
"We want people to be safe, and we want to make sure people are comfortable using the road," said Tim Tierney, Executive Director of Kingdom Trails.
Due to the path being along a roadway, the state will have to approve the project before it can be completed. Unfortunately, this means that bikers may have to wait a few years before the path becomes a reality.
Trail visits have gone up 20% over last year. Tierney thinks that more people have had the itch to ride some of the 81 different trails because of the weather and the start of fall foliage season.
