BRADFORD - Despite poor snowmobile trail conditions being less than perfect all season long, The Rock the Hills group still held their Snodeo at the Bradford Fairgrounds this past Saturday. The Snowmobile Rodeo, or Snodeo, featured snowmobile races and trick competitions with riders from across the state.
Looking at this years turnout the group was pleased considering how the season has been.
"I think we had a good turnout for racers today it was hard with mother nature not giving us any snow but I think we had a pretty decent turnout for our first time ever," said Joshua Allen, President of Rock the Hills, "this is our first time having an event at the fairgrounds hopefully we'll be here next year".
With racers competing in drag and barrel races and freestyle stunt competitions, having riders fly over 65 feet into the air, riders were not concerned about course conditions and safety even with the lack of snow. It is just a matter of riding based on the conditions "I just don't drive as fast cause I have to get up and go to work the next day so that's priority," said Jeff Barton, one of the Snodeo competitors.
Rock the Hills was pleased with this years event and hopes to work with the local Bradford Snowmobile club and VAST for next years events.
