Multicultural Community Day

LYNDONVILLE - October first marked the day of the Lyndon Institute Multicultural Fun Day, and festivities were a plenty. With a large variety of games and events ranging from inflatable obstacle courses to informational exhibits on different cultures around the world, the event was a big community hit.

This event was primarily directed toward the students of LI who were assigned to research and find information on one of twenty-one possible countries that they were then required to display at the community event. There was also a very large and diverse selection of food present at the event, that ranged from multiple different cultures.

The director of residential life at Lyndon Institute, Rick Angel, had a lot of good things to say about the event, which he believed meant a lot more to the community than just a curriculum requirement for the students. "We have this tremendous wealth of culture here at our school, and we want that culture with the community."

The event occurred in accordance with the Chinese National Day; students, teachers, and community members all enjoyed spending a little of their time on Sunday morning learning a little bit more about diverse cultures, and a little bit more about their own community.
