VERMONT- The state of Vermont is looking for the public's opinion on a 50.6 million dollar clean water budget. The goal is to clean up polluted streams, lakes and wetlands through the 2024 fiscal year.
The draft budget looks to see if people feel the proposed funding is sufficient, as well as if they agree with the board's prioritization of funding. Nearly half of the proposed budget allocates funding to land conservation and water quality projects, statewide clean water projects, and would provide grants to partners and farmers throughout the state.
You can submit feedback to the clean water board through a short questionnaire, from now until November 22 2022 at 4pm.
You can also attend a public hearing November 22nd at 8:30am, at a location to be determined.
The state encourages people to visit the clean water website for more information.
