BARNET- The Selectboard for the town of Barnet met Monday night with two topics up for discussion.
The first item approved by the board was a plan for increased funding for Harvey's Lake Beach, which would increase the salary for life guards brought on by the new rise in minimum wage. The town plans on holding swimming lessons again this summer with the increased budget. Harvey's Lake opens for the season Memorial day weekend, May 23rd.
The second item up for discussion was the animal control ordinance. Barnet Town Agent, Jay Abramson, says, "The existing ordinance really was an older ordinance that hasn't been updated to deal with a variety of issues that the town has seen, so, they really wanna get at people who aren't managing their pets adequately that are causing disturbances and nuisances to neighbors."
Residents in the town of Barnet should expect more changes to come in the near future.
