LYNDON- Senior night is a time for seniors to remember their time playing the sport they love. It is their last time playing on their home court. The Vikings on saturday gave a farewell to Samantha Rowell as she played in her last game at home. Samantha and her team were hoping for a win, but that was not the case as Lake Region destroyed Lyndon Institute 64-25.
Turnovers did not help the Vikings as Lake region scored off of almost every turnover that the Vikings gave them. The loss did not change the seed for Lyndon Institute for playoffs as they captured the 12th spot.
Head Coach Eric Berry had this to say after his teams loss. "Well you know we're really young, got a bunch of young players and we're excited about the future and we thought we'd have a better record right now but it is what it is.."
The only senior on the team, Samantha Rowell, had this to say about their post season match against Lamoille Valley. " We Lost to them the first time and beat them the second time so it's going to be pretty evenly matched if we can keep our heads on straight."
With a 6-14 record the Vikings will head to Lamoille Valley on Tuesday night to start the post season.
