Wheelock- This year in Wheelock they had lengthy discussions on all their articles.
Their Town Meeting this year began at 9 and took six and a half hours. Each article was discussed for a long time. One of the major discussions was on what to do about the town clerk position. The current town clerk Carol Rossi was the only nominee and she accepted the nomination with the pre-curser that she does not see herself in the position long term.
" I have already retired from this position 2 times now," Carol Rossi said, " I love this town but I can't keep this position forever."
Rossi will be taking the reins again as town clerk of Wheelock but, she will be putting out ads for someone to become the assistant town clerk so she can train them and get them ready for when she steps down and they take her place.
All articles passed including their large, 19%, increased budget that stems from the town's overall needs and education budget. They also passed the article to purchase a new dump truck that the price isn't more than $240,262.
All of their town positions were filled except for one here are the results:

Wheelock's town clerk Carol Rossi said in a summary to News7 she said:
"Wheelock’s 2024 Town Meeting will be remembered as the one during which the volunteer fire department members were toned out three times for three separate incidents. Citizens paused to stare and share a sense of worry as fire truck after fire truck sped up the hill just outside the town hall after the last call-out. We were relieved when we heard that the family members and their pets had made it out of the home and were safe."
Approximately 50 people were in attendance.
