young girlST. JOHNSBURY- Everyone has hopes and dreams, and for Dali Kabanadze she hopes to be able to afford another year at Saint Johnsbury Academy.

A native from Kiev Ukraine, Kabanadza moved to the United States last year after a great opportunity came her way, she had the opportunity to come to America to get a better education.

She said her life in the Ukraine has been anything but easy, recently the country has been suffering from political and economical uncertainty relating back to the Revolution for Dignity which happened in February of 2014. On top of that, her father, Temo Svirely, passed away in October 2014 from pancreatic cancer. Svirely's dying wish was to guide his daughter and see her grow up, and after visiting the United States and studying at Saint Johnsbury Academy, she knows what she wants to do.

"I like solving problems, finding ways and I think the science field is a good way to do that," she said. "When I saw all the biology, chemistry, robotics, the classrooms, and the machines with all the technologies that students can work with. I understood that theres a place where I can apply all my knowledge in real life."

Kabanadza said she used to study in Kiev, but it's not the same value that you get in America. "We learn a lot of theory but unfortunately we don't do any experiments, practice, and we never do it in a lab," says

Kabanadza also is bilingual, as she is able to speak four languages, including french, Chinese, english, and Russian. She also just finished up her sophomore year at the academy, where she was able to achieve the honor roll, and take many advanced level courses. When she was in the 9th grade she took 12th grade level calculus, and even competed in Mathematicics and language competitions. Kabanadza has received scholarships to attend the academy, however, they don't cover all of the expenses needed, and her mother can't afford to send her to school.

Right now she has a "Gofundme" page set up where she is asking the community for help. So far she has raised close to $12,000 dollars to pay for her Junior year the academy, and her goal is to reach $20,000.

"It's such an uplifting feeling that you have so many people that are ready to help you and they think you're worth it and you didn't even know them."

And Ella Reznikova, who is friends with her mother say's her decision to study in America was a good one, and she is impressed with the amount of donations they have received

"It has proved that society is really good," she said. "Dali continued to improve which is very inspiring for people and she's just a wonderful child."
