LI Soccer GirlsLYNDONVILLE- Tuesday night, Lyndon Institute faced off against Montpelier in girls soccer with a final score of 2-0, Montpelier. For the LI girls, this was their senior night and the second to last soccer game they'll play for the season.

Although the LI girls lost, the coach was proud of his players and the hard work they put in on the field. Coach Frank Leafe of the LI girls' soccer team says, "We knew coming into the game Montpelier was a very well coached team, disciplined, and had good ball skills. We were just trying to shut down their offense a little and I was very pleased with the way the girls stepped up today, especially after playing yesterday(Monday) and I know that we don't have a have a lot of subs, so everybody gave it a good effort."

The LI girls played a tough game from behind and just had a hard time getting ahead to get the ball in the net. Coach Leafe says, "I don't think there was any one person that played an exceptional game other than maybe Jenna just making some unbelievable saves." Jenna is an LI Junior and plays goalie for the team.

Coach Leafe adds, "She has been a main state for us in the back. She keeps it close most of the time for us, so you know we might have an opportunity to play offensively. We (the team) thinks more defense minded, but Jenna has done a fantastic job in the goal for us this year." Girls face-off one final time for the season on Thursday away at Lake Region. The game kicks off at 4pm.
