democratic headquartersLYNDON - Democratic candidates from all over Vermont got together has night as they awaited the ballots to the tallies. Many members of the Democratic party made an appearance, which made for a emotional experience as a whole.

The democratic headquarters spent all of Tuesday calling Vermonters to encourage them to get out a vote, whether it was for a democrat or not.

However many people in attendance believed that Democrats will prevail in the election because the Democratic party as a whole is so strong. "We feel we have the volunteers, we have the people, whereas, at least on e national scale, the Republicans have the money" Assistant Treasurer of the Caledonia County Democrats Edie Bell-Brown says, "We don't use a lot of money, we use the volunteers, and it's worked for us many times. And out hearts are in it, we care."

Steven Amos spent most of his time campaigning and fielding calls about his own race, but he showed he was excited for his fellow democrats. "I'm energized and very excited about all the candidates and how their doing here and as chairman of the county party that's just as important to me as my own candidacy so I'm very excited for the party." Amos told us during his appearance at the Democratic headquarters. Amos us the chairman of the county Democrats.

Two St. Johnsbury based democrats were elected for state representative early in the night. Those two being Robert South and Michelle Fay. Robert South is going into his third term in office and says winning the spot felt just as good as the first time around. "I feel really really happy, and I appreciate all of the support from the citizens of St. Johnsbury that have the confidence in me to send me back for my third term," South says. Michelle Fay is going into her first term and is glad all her hard work payed off. "I campaigned pretty hard, you know I really was out there and connected with a lot of voters and listened to what their needs were. And I think in some ways St Johnsbury is just ready for a change. Ready for a fresh face and a more active representative."
