BURKE - PeakCM President Jerry Davis says the State approved some of the money he was owed for the Q Burke hotel project on Friday, but the operation could still be shut down this weekend because of ongoing issues with equipment expenses.
BURKE - The Vermont Attorney General's office and Governor Peter Shumlin's office will look into the situation at Q Burke, according to Lt. Governor Phil Scott.
PeakCM, the general contractor for the project, sent a letter to Scott and Governor Peter Shumlin on Thursday requesting that they get involved and force the Department of Financial Regulation to approve previous invoices so that the company can be paid.

EAST BURKE - A 27-year-old St. Johnsbury woman was found dead by ski patrol on QBurke Mountain early Friday evening.
BURKE - The community is familiar with the Pub Outback and its recent closure. Now, the Burke Publick House has moved in, with plans to open on the 22nd of this month. The owner, Curt Cuccia, and his workers are trying their best to get ready for the opening day.
