BURKE - After a harsh winter, Burke's roads are in need of renovations. From the interstate to the streets, Burke will be keeping V-Trans busy during the next couple of months. The bridge heading northbound of I-91 is one section that was hit hard by this season's freezing temperatures.
The bridge's passing lane was closed for seveal hours Wednesday while Vermont Agency of Transportation highway crews filled in large pot holes.
The Lyndon Agency of Transportation says that they will continue their efforts to repair parts of the roads when neccessary. However, with temperatures constantly fluctuating between above and below freezing, successful road work becomes difficult.
Now that the Vermont Transportation Permit is complete, V-Trans will also be installing new sidewalks in East Burke.
Construction is expected to begin and end by the end of the summer.
