Around the NEK- KESD is having staffing issues in all of the districts campuses.
The Kingdom East School District is composed by Lyndon Town School...Sutton School...Burke Town School...Concord School...Lunenburg School...Miller's Run...and Newark Street School. All of the campuses have staffing issues in regards of not having enough teachers and support staff. Specifically...there are thity-three jobs available and most of those jobs are for support staff and there are ten available positions for ten licensed teachers. The school is also having problems with their transportation. The district is in a contract with Butler's Bus Service and there aren't enough drivers to take the students to their respective campuses.
Superintendent for KESD...Sean Mcmannon... stated the following: "So as right now...Kingdom East has about thirty-three open positions. Ten of those are licensed teachers and twenty of them are support staff and in addition to that...our transportation partner; Butler's is having a real problem hiring drivers." In the meantime while finding drivers...the school is putting more students on the buses as much as they can so that way less students can be affected by this issue.
