maplefestST. JOHNSBURY- Runners from around the region found their way to St. Johnsbury for the 2015 Maple Festival and Sap Lap 5K Run. Proceeds from the event are going towards paying for ice time for local youth hockey players next winter. Organizer and State Representative Scott Beck believes the event is great for both youth hockey players as well as the town of St. Johnsbury.

"It's nice to have a day where everyone can come out with their family," said Beck.

Maple Grove Farm Manager Carole Before had a similar opinion.

"We live in a small community," said Before. "It's very nice to have everybody get together and have a day where everyone can come out with their family."

Just over 130 runners particpated in the event. Awards were given to the top finishers in the male, female, young boy's, and young girl's categories.

Online registration for the 2016 Sap Lap is open until April 29, 2016 at 5pm. Anyone interested in taking part in the event or have any questions are asked to contact Beck.
