LYNDON - Collecting everything from maple tubing to hazardous household materials, but specializing in regular bottles and cans, the Northeast Kingdom Waste Managment District in Lyndonville, along with the other 22 recycling centers that are part of the NEKWMD, work to collect, sort and sale recyclable materials from the area.
Over 4,100 tons of material from homes and businesses were processed and then sold for $174,000 through the NEKWMD in 2010 alone. Paul Tomasi, excutive director of NEKWMD, explained the process as well as the benifits of the recyling in the Northeast Kingdom.
