LYNDONVILLE -The Caledonia County Fair is hosting a and Garden Show this weekend. The Home and Garden Show will have many vendors for people to look at and buy stuff from. The vendors have many things such as jewelry, cooking supplies, bath tubs/showers, and companies that allow people to be more economical.
Event Coordinator Cindy Nichols decided to bring the show back to the fair as it has more room and more spaces to park. It previously was held at Lyndon State College in the past.Nichols also worked at the Pampered Chef vendor as she has been involved with the Pampered Chef for the past 18 years.
"It's a place for the community to come, it's free, it's open to everybody and you can see multiple vendors in one location at one time. Last year we had anywheres from 800 to a 1,000 people come through the door we are hoping for that to happen this year as well, " said Nichols.
One guest in particular who went to see the vendors said she never misses this event, whether it's at Barton or in Lyndonville. She mentioned how she used to go to this same event in Barton about 15 to 20 years ago and ever since she hasn't missed it.
" I have a confession to make, I'm a Vermonter from this area so a lot of the times I get to see fellow Vermonters and fellow neighbors, so it's really kind of fun and gathering as well," said Christine Larocque.
One of the venders is an advocator for climate change. According to Apex Solar Power field manager Jeffery Pignona his vendor is about solar energy and how it can save people money and it is very effective on the environment.
"The Northeast Kingdom in Vermont is in dire need of solar energy, there just isn't enough companies out there making it available to people. This is a great way to reach people," said Pignona.
The Home and Garden Show will be happening Saturday May 5th from 10-4.
